Here I am eating one of the muffins from the funeral luncheon.
Lauren told Mama a story about the birthday party we had for Mr D. She said, "oh yeah, that's the one where I lost the 9 candle on the cake so he was only 9 when he blew out the candles instead of 99!" It made Mama smile, because no matter how frustrated she got, Mr. D always just laughed at the antics of the kids...and he always knew all of our names, each and every one!

Today we went to a wake for Frank, aka Mr. Di Martino, my great-great uncle. In June, we celebrated his 99th birthday. We miss him, and we are especially sorry for Aunt Linda, but we are also happy that we had him for as long as we did. I guess that's the way life is....a wedding one day, a wake the next.
